Ever since her early childhood, Arleen has been passionate about music. At the age of 5, she integrated the music Conservatory to learn classical piano, and she soon discovered Rhythm & Blues and Jazz through her parents’ CDs, notably Ella Fitzgerald, Julie London and The Platters, who have never ceased to be influences.
She wrote poems and her first songs around the age of 11, mostly in the Gospel genre for the latter.
At 16, she started taking jazz piano lessons and made her first steps on stage with her High School Big Band, on a Soul music repertoire.
At the end of High School, she went to Law School for 7 years during which she kept practicing piano and song, and developing her musical influences.
When she discovered Amy Winehouse’s first album “Frank”, her perception of music changed significantly. She completely fell in love with the poignant lyrics and the vintage style on modern arrangements, somewhere between Jazz and Hip Hop. From this point on, she focused on Neo Soul artists such as Lauryn Hill, Macy gray, Joss Stone and Lianne La Havas.
At the end of 2013, while she was working as a lawyer in a tax law office, and while also giving a few concerts in prestigious piano bars on the French Riviera, the number of gig proposals started to increase. After a few months, she finally decided to quit her job as lawyer in order to completely dedicate herself to music.
At first, in a purely acoustic register, she played in the most beautiful places offering live music from Cannes to Monaco. Step by step, she surrounded herself with musicians who shared the same musical ambitions and passion as her, and built more elaborate and orchestrated sets, combining acoustic authenticity and electric possibilities.
Today, she performs in a modern and elegant Pop Soul musical world, the tones of which will be present on her soon to be released first EP.
